FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Memorial Opera House is filling the month of October with entertainment and service to the community.

The Memorial Opera House will donate a portion of ticket sales for the October 4 performance of ON THE TOWN to assist Christian Community Action's efforts to repair and rebuild their basement that experienced major storm damage as a result of the storms over the September 13-14 weekend.

"We will also be accepting monetary donations and having a food drive to benefit local food pantries throughout the month as well. Anyone coming to see the performances of ON THE TOWN is encouraged to drop off non-perishable food items or simply stop by the Memorial Opera House during regular box office hours Monday through Saturday 10 am to 2 pm. We want to help the communities that have supported the Opera House throughout the years and this month we will show a small token of our appreciation while helping a great cause." Says Brian Schafer, Executive Producer and Facility Director at the Memorial Opera House

The Memorial Opera House also is recognizing American Cancer Society's Breast Cancer Awareness Month by having a donation can at the Box Office.

"We encourage everyone to spend a night "on the town" and in turn give back to the communities were we live and work," says Brian Schafer, Executive Producer and Facility Director at the Memorial Opera House
