Windiana, Northwest Indiana's Premiere
Concert Band to perform at the Memorial Opera House
Windiana will present it's second of a series
of concerts at the historic Memorial Opera House by opening with the George
Washington Bicentennial March by John Philip Sousa. This march celebrates
the 200 th Birthday of President George Washington and the historic concert
series that John Phillip Sousa performed in this very building in February
1894!
Other pieces include a LeRoy Anderson Tribute, Symphony in Bb Paul
Hindemith, and The Olympics: A Centennial Celebration arranged by John
Moss.
Windiana is conducted by Dr. Jeffrey Scott Doebler, Director of Music
Education and Bands, Valparaiso University. The concert is set for
Thursday, February 21 st, at 7:30pm at the Memorial Opera House which
celebrates it's 115th anniversary this year. Tickets price is $12.00 for
Adults and $10.00 for Seniors and Students.
