Windiana will present a concert at the Memorial Opera House in downtown Valparaiso on Thursday, November 20 @ 7:30 PM.
Windiana is conducted by Dr. Jeffrey Scott Doebler, Director of Music Education and Bands, Valparaiso University. This concert will be presented with special guests, The Northern Indiana Saxophone Quartet.
"We are very excited to welcome back, Windiana to the Memorial Opera House stage", says Brian Schafer, Business Facility Director and Executive Producer at the Memorial Opera House. "Windiana has a very strong cast of dynamite musicians gathered from across Northwest Indiana. Their precision, sound quality and musicianship are second to none!" He also added "We are bringing in more and more events to the Opera House, giving residents of Northwest Indiana a wide variety of entertainment. Why go to Chicago when we have this gem right in our backyards? Ticket prices are reasonable, downtown Valparaiso has a great dining establishment and you do not have rush hour traffic to contend with!"
Concert highlights include: Music from The Incredibles, fast and furious selections from the movie soundtrack, In Exuberant Celebration by Roger Cichy the latest work from the composer of Dazzling Lights, played by Windiana at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Mannin Veen by Haydn Wood, a collection of Manx folk songs, Prestissimo by Karl King, a circus march to be played as fast as possible and A Tribute to Benny Goodman and Hoagy Carmichael and much more!
